Every time I drive through New Jersey, I ask myself why. Not sure how Naidoo does it. He seems to love New Jersey. Same goes for the Mongo and FP crews for that matter … No idea. West Coast Gigging: Rival Mob & The Mongoloids

Last night, I got the chance to chat up Greg Mongo. He was working the Man Overboard table. I was a wee bit confused why he was back there, but the Jersey thing all made sense after I thought about it for 14 seconds more. We talked about the upcoming weekend the Mongoloids and Rival Mob have planned. It sounds like a good time. He even gave me some dope on some hot merch they are dropping. I swore I wouldn’t give out details so you’ll just have to wait to see them for yourself. But from the sound of it, it’s going to be awesome. And if you are wondering why Morgado has been MIA, you can blame this tour package. He’s busy working on a project or two for the gigs as well. For those of you who can’t wait, I’d suggest picking up some of this merch. Like the Rival Mob’s Human Centipede tee from sickpeople90. I imagine the weekend tour will be very simlar to that.

Some Dudes Love … Pink

The age of popped collars is (thankfully) passed, but that doesn’t mean pink isn’t a favorite color anymore. You can still find shirts form all your favorite bands in the brightest color. Granted, you wouldn’t catch me wearing a pink Project X tee, but I think I could hang with the Mongos one if it wasn’t quite so vulgar. The story behind it is seriously the best. And thanks to paint_it_butter, you could probably get all 3 with reduced shipping. Good look.

Turtle Smoking Bong

Thank god. It’s been far too long since we’ve featured some wonderful Mongoloids merch. We are back with a bang! This is a one of ten snapback hat. That’s right 1 of 10. You will own 10% of all the hats when you win this one. Not only that, but it features a turtle smoking a bong. Granted, he’s probably legal and just smoking tobacco. Honestly, has it ever occurred to anyone how weird the Mongos merch is? Especially for a crew of straight edge dudes. Without a doubt, we love it. Floorpunch … Errrr … Mongos

Interesting. This is my first time ever seeing this particular design. The front appears to be the screen from the Sound And Fury Floorpunch tank, and the back is the screen from The Mongoloids “You Won’t Be Straight Edge Next Year” tee. This leads me to believe it is a Greg Mongos special. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I’m interested in knowing. I’ve seen pocket Floorpunch mosher on Mongo tees before, but never this giant one. Granted, poule518 doesn’t live in NJ. So that could change everything. Cohoes. Interesting place. Word.

I Went to the Empire State Building And I Can’t See so Good

I understand the plight of juanlifejuanchance. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was in kindergarten. At one point in third grade, the teachers pulled me aside because they thought I was color blind. I was having trouble reading their flash cards. Turned out, I was not color blind, just needed a new prescription. It can be hard though. Especially with no health insurance. So head on over to his auctions, and buy him some new lenses (And get great tshirt and record packages out of it!).

I’m not sure who exactly headtowall is, but he’s definitely connected. My guess would be a member of The Mongoloids. Why do I guess that? Why, this deck, of course. There were only 5 made, and they were all given to members of the band. Given to the original members of the band as gifts from the company that made them. Sadly, he doesn’t say what company made these. Someone hook me up with this info.

Oh man, getting psyched. I rolled over to Casali’s last night to bin up all our merch. It was a healthy stack of tees but not too many. It was a good time rolling tees and talking merch. Talking classic tees with Casali is always good. It also doesn’t hurt that I got to check out the Wishingwell Records shirtography while I was there. Such an ill collection. It also put me on the topic of OTHER upcoming merch from Sound And Fury Fest. I love dreaming about merch. What will we see? Who will bring the most zany item (triple b?)? If I had to guess, I would lay money down on the Mongoloids. These guys never fail. And thanks to iron69eagle, you can check out LOTS of previous years fest or show merch. Dude is selling an armful, but in the world of The Mongoloids, it’s not even a small percentage of ALL their shirts. Check it!

For a straight edge band, the mongos sure do feature a lot of weed related graphics. Like this tshirt from d-flow-projekt. I’m not sure if this is a Lost reference, or just a polar bear smoking a big one, but it seems pretty cool. Good use of color, Bob Marley would be proud.

I’m guessing the turtle is currently saying, “Puff, puff, give. Puff, puff, give. You’re fucking up the rotation!”

King Lebron

I know basketball season ended less than a month ago. You thought it was over. You thought we were done talking about it. Guess what? We’re not. Now that King Lebron is getting the royal treatment from EVERY NBA team, basketball is starting to heat up again! Good for us, bad for you? Only bad for you if you are not a fan of basketball or Uruguayan. Those guys are just bummed in general. Pssshhh.
