The Mongoloids are a band that isn’t shy about using other band’s designs for their shirts. I think it was a funny play on the Rival Mob’s Raw Life shirt. This one is from earlier this year and thisverymoment says it is out of 36. Maybe Dave can fill us in on it?

The Sound And The Fury Of TUI.

I was skimming my Twitter feed today, and happened to notice this one from the boys in Trapped Under Ice:

Followed by a link to thecomingofspring’s auction for this TUI tank from this year’s Sound and Fury festival.

A quick look at this guy’s other auctions and our archives shows me that this is the same dude who bought up a ton of Rival Mob/Mongoloids gear when they toured through Cali under the pretense of buying for people who couldn’t attend the show, and then ebay’d all of it. Like almost 15 auctions worth of tees. Some of them are even still in his other auctions, along with even more limited merch from S+F 2011!

The sizes on this stuff are all over the place. He’s got mediums, hes got smalls, hes got larges… no way this guy wasn’t buying just to flip. I’m especially bummed that he’s got a Mongos shirt in there, since they had their tees included in the massive flip attempt. You’d think someone would have remembered this dude…

In brighter TUI related news, I saw this today, and the dude lip syncing’s facial expressions cracked me way up. And I needed that today.

A Greg Mongo 1 Of 1 Tanktop

I appreciate that smurphypurple calls this one like it is. No punches pulls, he tells you exactly what you are getting. Which is a one of one tanktop that Greg Mongo made one day while working at a screen shop. On the front, you have the smoking Mongoloids dude. And on the back, you get the RZL DZL LOC character. Interesting combo. Take it for what it’s worth, but don’t get too crazy over it.

Mongos Know Gear

Do you follow gearnoize.com? I’m going to highly suggest it. If you do, you’ve probably seen something that looks like this crewneck our friend soulcraft1977 is selling. That’s right, The Mongoloids know gear. This particular item is modeled after a mid 80s Nike Jordan tshirt. It featured the classic AJ1s slung over a shoulder. You can see an example here. But this one is one sided. Instead of being slung over the shoulder, the sneakers are slung around the neck — one sided shirt style. That’s cool. And the “Mongos” mention is a good one. Into it.

** I suppose the title would have been more appropriate for a Bo Jackson tee. I know both Guns Up and Set Your Goals did one, but I can’t find either at the moment. Bummer. This Nike shirt did come up when I searched Guns Up, though.

The Mongoloids x Takashi Murakami

Of course, this is not an official collaboration between The Mongoloids and Takashi Murakami. You know how The Mongos roll. Always on the tshirt hustle. Lots of them. And plenty are rip-off designs (maybe not as many as Cold World had going at one point), but plenty. This one is pretty chill. The art of Murakami is out there, and the peace sign is just dope. Sadly, gmillz561 is selling a size small. Bah. Anyone got The Mongos v-neck in medium? I want.

Reppin Da Loids

Back in the early days of ebay, you could get a lot of steals. Back before anyone had digital cameras, you had to rely on descriptions. It was a crap shoot, but sometimes you won big. And then when cameras came along, most were less than 1 megapixel. It was pretty gnarly. I seem to recall someone scoring a batman stamped YOT EP because the stamp looked like a black crumb instead of what it really was. Those were the days. In a sense, this auction is a throwback to those days. I know the front script is reads “The Mongoloids,” but you may have to stretch your imagination with this one. Ah, the good old days.

Oh and don’t forget. christianisgold sold out. This and the fact that college is more important means he can no longer rep the loids. His words, not mine.

You Won’t Be Straight Edge Next Year

For a while, ebay was overrun with merch from The Mongoloids. The prices skyrocketed then dropped. Supply Vs Demand. At this point, demand seems down. That works out well for me. I’ve been looking for the Edge Day tie dye shirt, like the one from xmarcusnapple, for a while now. The price was always more than I wanted to pay. But now, the glut has worked in my favor. Granted, I should have just bought one that day when I saw them play. Hindsight is 20/20, and I’m not even sure these tees were being sold at the gig. Anyone know? I suggest you all DON’T bid on this one and rather, go buy merch from one of their online merch stores. This one too. Do it. You can get the un-tie dye version from merchnow currently. I still want the Mongoloids v-neck. Who’s got one in a medium or large?

ps. Still straight edge this year. I’ll still be straight edge next year too. How about you?
