Farewell 0

Mar13

Last night I hit up The Bean Counter in Shrewsbury, Mass. It’s one of my favorite spots. They have some excellent #vegan cupcakes.

Tonight, the girl behind the counter had a chest tattoo that said “Farewell.” I wondered where she was going. I mean, she was already in a pretty good spot. Lots of espresso, soy milk and vegan cookies. Why go anywhere else?

@Cailah, where’s she going? I know you know this girl.

ps. Great shirt, obviously.

While You Were Sleeping … 0

Mar8

While you were sleeping, I was busy working my ass off. I’ve been pulling 15 hour work days lately. Not cool, not cool.

But I’ve got a few minutes. So here’s a few things you may have missed, while you were sleeping.

Question: What do these tees have in common?

Answer: I sold both of them from two different merch tables to the same person.

That’s right, me. I was manning the Bane and Reach The Sky merch tables during This Is Hardcore 2009. So I’m sure it was me. Great shirts, I’m feeling it. You can’t go wrong with Bane and Reach The Sky.

ps. Happy birthday baby bro.

Get Out Of My Closet, Asshole! 2

Mar3

If I didn’t know better, it would seem someone had slipped into my closet and robbed me. I really wouldn’t appreciate that.

Seriously.

But check out these great Bane tees and hoods.

The strange part? A majority of the tees are from 2005 to 2007. Like that brown BA tee, or some of the logo tees. Or the SXSW 2007 tee that was reprinted by merchnow.com in 2008. But that West Coast tour hood is definitely from 2001. Cool combo, love that tour hood. And those long sleeves are from the 2008 and 2010.

We Are Born Into Suffering 0

We Are Born Into Suffering.

Jeesh.

Trial coming at you with the Super Posi message.

Pass. I prefer my tees to up the #PMA. Maybe that’s just me.

That couch/comforter has WAY more PMA, thankfully.

Win / Win Situation 0

This seller has it all working for him.

1. He’s selling Lladro figurines.
2. He has negative feedback (claims “ebay sold one item to the two people via a BIN.” Okkkkkkkkk …..)
3. The pictures are excellent.
4. He’s selling a sparkly Bane shirt.

Dalbec told me (or maybe it was Bedard) that people in the UK and Europe ate these tees up. I’m not sure I exactly believe that, but anything is possible.

I recall the shirts made IN the UK were extra sparkly. The ones made in America had sparkle, but it wasn’t quite so intense. The UK ones made me think of a craft project that went off the tracks. I can’t tell from these pics which one he is selling (I’d guess the USA made one, though, considering his location).

Vegan, Straight Edge & Yellow 8

Feb25

Smart look.

I’d take a yellow shirt over a navy blue shirt any day.

I’d take a Floorpunch shirt over an Earth Crisis tee though too. Navy, yellow, or puke ass green. But that’s just me.

I like this old tee. No Victory Vomit, no GIANT slogans. Just a tee with a visual message. I can dig it.

Right Brigade – All About Me 1

Feb23

Much like Cooch over on vinylnoize.com, I like when a seller gives a little background on the item I’m buying. Again, like Cooch, I don’t need a full history of the band, but rather the history of the item. It’s the item I’m interested in buying. I’m certainly not buying the 3rd guitarists wheat allergy (which would only be considered interesting if the shirt I’m buying was made from recycled wheat products).

But this Right Brigade shirt is literally all about me. Now this is a description I can get into.

I traded this tee to Dobek probably 5 years ago. He was still living in London at the time. We had this continuous trade going on that involved me sending him hardcore merch, and he would then send me Euro/UK Nikes (jd sports will not ship internationally, or they wouldn’t back then). It worked out for everyone. I removed records from my house and stuffed it full of sneakers. Over the years, I probably got 8-10 pairs via Dobek (and then later from Marcus, Adam, …). It’s funny. I’ve sent this guy some gems, but I have never met him in person. We’ve probably been emailing each other regularly for over 10 years, and we’ve never met. When I visited London, he had just moved to Japan. And I haven’t made that Japan trip, but he’ll probably move to Korea or Finland or Papa New Guinea before I can get there.

Read the description. It’s a good one. I’m tempted to buy it back. I just might.

Gorilla Biscuits Euro Tour 89 2

Feb22

I love this poster. Everything about it is awesome.

Great gorilla, shows all the tour stops. Great font at the top too.

I’m not sure how I’m feeling about the seller calling it “mint” considering it is creased on the roll.

I’m also not sure how I feel about the opening price, but hey, no pinholes, could be framed very nicely.

Do it.

I have one like this but it no where near as good condition. Mine came in a much weirder scenario. Someone who I won’t name was buying a giant collection. The guy had bins of demos, zines and trash bags full of tees. They met in some weird dark alley. Cash was exchanged for product, and this poster was thrown in. Great little add on for me. That’s for sure.

Who Dares Wins 6

Feb22

Who Dares Wins.

Path Of Resistance. Good band. The shirt has seen better days, of course, but still a good look for a good band. My brother had the longsleeve with Victory bull dog explosion. This one appears to just have the one on the sleeve. Not too bad.

Some people found this band to be a little over the top, but I dug them. They were one of the first strict hardcore bands I really listened to. Never saw them, but always wanted to. Anyone know what percentage is still edge?

Bane Triple B Tee 2

Feb21

Bane released a crap ton of EPs this year. Two on most continents.

Australia, Asia and South America went for CDs.

But America and europe both got EPs. One of the labels to release an EP was Triple B Records. Sam’s a good dude, very responsible with pre-orders and packing items properly. Big fan of this dude.

This is a shirt Triple B did for the first Bane EP they did. I’m 99.9% certain this shirt has a giant Triple B logo on the back. Not sure why the seller doesn’t mention it. It’s pretty damn hard to miss.

Of course, I’m torn on this shirt. On the positive side, it’s a Bane tee with a chill ass graphic. On the negative side, it’s a navy blue shirt. Ooofffff. Navy blue.

Head over to Triple B Records and pick up some new releases. Quit sleeping. That reminds me, I still need to pick up a white Triple B logo tee. Word!
