Class Up Your Dorm Room

Did you queue up for the latest release from J. Bannon, Lucky Me? If not, you already missed out. You have to be on the ball when it comes to these prints. Hint: keep an eye on the Deathwish Inc twitter page. Lots of great little hints from Tre and Jake. Also, 200 prints have a way of flying off the shelf these days. But don’t fret, there are other prints out there. More in the Lucky Me prints. The DWI store had 200, but there are 200 more. Keep digging. You could find them. Until then, be happy there is ebay where you can still scoop some prints at a pretty reasonable price. Like these two from its.les. Tour prints, good look.

Or maybe grab this one from rka00. Harvest Chrome is a good look. 2010 so don’t expect to pay too much — compared to the old ones, that is.

And if you aren’t happy with any of those (or a Winter Heart print), head over to ebay: J. Bannon for more prints.

WTF? Converge Mashup?

Can anyone tell me what’s going on with this shirt from tehnovemberist? I’m positive it’s a Converge tee at the base, but is it a mash up of other logos too? The seller claims it was purchased on a Converge/ Thursday/ Touche Amore tour. We’ve seen Jane Doe incorporated with other logos. Is that the case here? Is Thursday a shiny heart? Is Touche Amore a slice of pizza (what else could that be in the left hand side eye? Ice cream cone?)? Anyone? The print lists it as the Winterhearts 09 print. The print is actually pretty cool looking. Somehow that art translates much better to print than cotton. Thoughts?

Hatebreed Print Plus Coffee Spill

Can we get Jim C to weigh in on this print from hunkapunk? This is a limited edition, hand screened, hand signed and number print. It was created for the Hatebreed, Bane, Poison The Well and What Feeds The Fire tour of 2002. I’ve honestly never seen this print before, and I honestly have no idea who the artist is. The art is not familiar to me and the signature is unrecognizable. Also, screening a print on the back of a target practice screen? Wow. Tough. I’m sure Ange would approve. Is that coffee, orange juice or beer? If this print was unstained, we’d have a battle on our hands …

Class Up Your Living Space

There is a very small line between the guy who loves hardcore and the old man who lives in his parents basement. At some point, you’ve got to class up your style. But you don’t need to turn your back on everything you love in order to do that. Here are a few tips. You know that Mouthpiece poster you love? Maybe it’s time to frame it instead of using tacks. And you know that COS rag you’ve been wearing everyday for the last few years? It could be time to retire it in favor of a new Down To Nothing tee.**

Thankfully, our friend xjjacobyx has the goods to destroy your lady repelling apartment vibe. Grab a few of these prints, get some frames with proper matting and invite the ladies over. And without moving, you’ve graduated from crumby basement to bachelor pad. You’re welcome.

PS. If you don’t like Floorpunch, you are not straight edge.

** Don’t get any ideas, Melissa. I’m never retiring that Insted tee. Continue reading »

Triple Record Release Prints

In the world of prints, matching numbers are cool. Getting 3 prints with matching numbers always increases the inherent value. And usually, AP (artist proofs) are even more valuable.

When Linas dropped these 3 prints for sale at the 3 record release shows, kids were murdering each other to get one. Somehow, I ended up with an Artist Proof of one print. I was pretty happy with it. Others, I have seen with matching sets. I think Kurt Wilson may have the 3 neatly framed. It was quite a classy production.

American Nightmare, Death Threat, Shark Attack. 3 great B9 releases. A real big day for Bridge 9 records, that’s for sure. I’m pretty positive I went to this gig, but my mind is blanking on it. I’m positive it was at the Met Cafe, but I’ve gone completely blank. Someone clue me in. March 18, 2002 (oddly, 3 days prior, I saw an excellent gig at the Palladium, Some Kind of hate, Horror Show, Count me Out, Panic, and American Nightmare). I can’t imagine I would have skipped such a gig …

As far as matching prints go, you’ll have to keep looking. vvvvvmarkvvvvv is selling 2 prints with matching numbers BUT not all 3. And animlstc is selling 2 prints which you could use to make all 3 match, but sadly, no matching numbers there. Keep digging for those matches!

Frameable Straight Edge Art

Our good friend and site loyalist, Jay Jacoby is selling a few leftover prints. You may recognize his art from Alert tees or recent Up Front tees.

He screened up 30 on 11″x17″ paper. Each is signed and numbered.

Pretty damn cool if you ask me.

And for $10, even if you wife won’t let you hang it in the kitchen (cough MELISSA cough), you can’t pass up on a good deal like this.

There are less than 30 now, so don’t sleep.

Derek Hess Print

I’ve always wanted one of these prints. Derek Hess has a cool style I can support.

August 16, 2003 at the Cleveland Agora — Throwdown, Bane, Every Time I Die, Terror, The Promise, The Suicide File, Comeback Kid and Above This Fire.

I wasn’t at the show (and have never heard of Above The Fire), but I’d be down to own a print. You know, for the old Bane collection I have brewing.

But with an opening bid of $50 and a Buy It Now at the laughable price of $200, I think I’ll hold out. I don’t need one that bad.

Floopunch “Final” Gig Merch

I was not a math major in college, but if I do my best, I think, and I’m pretty sure I’m right, these two items were listed directly AFTER the gig ended. In fact, judging by the hours left, they could have been listed DURING the gig. You do the math, you’ll see that I’m right.

As for the merch, I can’t say I like it as much as the other Final Floorpunch merch. Granted, this is just one hood, and you know I hate navy gear. Ugh, navy. I much prefer grey gear. No doubt. Also, “New Jersey Hardcore?” Hardcore? Hardcore?? Sigh

Of course, the first gig was postponed due to snow. So the date on this poster is no longer super accurate. Still, a good look.

Jacob Bannon: Jane Doe X Integrity Print

Jantegrity?

Integ Doe?

I like Integ Doe. This could be Integ Doe 256 Bit. Or just 2 bit, really, I guess. I think that’d be a Nerd X Artist joke, despite me being only one of those. Obviously.

As for the image? I don’t know how to take it.

The Integrity logo is classic to me. Like mid 90s classic. One of the bands that stood the test of time and brought this great graphic with them. 15 years later, you know?

The Jane Doe graphic is probably more of a modern classic. This graphic started dropping back in 2001. A little more modern, but not groundbreaking new, that’s for sure. And since Converge was playing out way back in 94, I’ll give it to them.

Jacob Bannon really does have his moments. And you know this, man!
