A Line Is Crossed As I Have Been

One King Down were from Albany and were one of the first non-Krishna related bands that Equal Vision Records worked with (Shift, I think, were the first) and man did their EVR debut kill it. Bloodlust Revenge is still a record I rock on the regular and never fails to get me pumped. snapcas is selling a classic tee that you can actually still buy through the Equal Vision webstore. This one does look like it wasn’t worn much and the print looks to be in great shape so it may be worth picking up.

OKD BIN

I couldnt tell you how many times I had to sit through a OKD set. They seemed to play all the time in the CT/MA/RI area. I was a not a fan of them although they did provide some amazing times and memories for me. The thing with them is that they had a lot of fans! Which meant a lot of stagediving opportunities! I remember one gig at “club infinities” in springfield mass that was particularlly packed and a friend and I would just try to do the stupidest shit possible. Good times all around. Thank you OKD.
btw – can anyone tell me what one king down means?

One King Down Glut

Someone (aka heroes-and-conspiracies) has obviously been keeping tabs on the state of One King Down merch on ebay. Or maybe, he’s just a fan of us keeping tabs of OKD merch on ebay. Either way, he’s out for blood with FOUR items. 3 tshirts and 1 windbreaker. Most have BINs, some seem steep. I don’t recall seeing either of the tour shirts, but the windbreaker was a staple at every E-bar show. Get into it.

Basketball Jersey Gold Mine

It isn’t often that we stumble across hardcore affiliated basketball jerseys. Even less often? Stumbling across FOUR from one seller. That’s the case here. SELLERNAME has blessed us with 4 jerseys. Lots of late 90s vibe going on here.

One King Down?

I don’t get it. What’s up with the sudden One King Down love lately? We saw a hood sell for $52 and a basketball jersey sell for $82. What’s up with that? Back when they were playing, kids were into it, but I imagine all those kids are no longer around. Sorry, but that seemed to be the crowd that really enjoyed OKD. If someone can clue me in, please do. For the rest of you fans, grab this shirt from ihateninjas.

OKD – Gravity Wins Again

By the time One King Down released Gravity Wins Again, the band was WAY past their prime. I don’t recall playing this one and don’t recall having any interest in this band post 1998. Actually, at this point, fortydaysrain must have already come and gone. Rob had done his stint while OKD kept rolling without him. But in 2000, he was back in the band, and this album dropped. I don’t recall a lot of fanfare on this one. Anyone (besides headwalkathon) get into it? What’d you think of it?

OKD

I dont know what to write about One King Down. I posting it up because im certain they must have some fans. I know they used to, unfortunately, I was not one of them. I can say that they were a real fun band to stagedive to when seeing them in western Mass many many times. I remember being psyched when Id see them on the bill for a western Mass show because I know there would be a ton of people packed up front waiting for me to jump on them. So I give them props for helping me dive. Buy this from 570jeep4x4 and relive the glory days of me jumping on you :)

One King Down Bloodlust Revenge

Jaybil is always talking about shirts he would see at least once a show in CT.

This is the Worcester version.

You couldn’t walk three feet in the Espresso Bar without hitting one of these tees. It probably helps that Rob would later go on to sing for the Worcester band fortydaysrain. Worcester seemed to have a lot of love for OKD. Who knows why.

Gotta love the giant EVR backprint. I feel like you don’t see enough of that anymore. Bring back giant Rev stars too.

One King Down Basketball Jersey

Here’s my One King Down story.

My girlfriend in high school had a very strict father. She was a junior, I was a senior. When prom came around, he refused to let her go with an older guy. No big deal to me because One King Down was playing at Zootz that night.

Yeap. I skipped prom to go see One King Down. It was actually a dope ass show.

May 10th 1997 @Zootz Portland Maine: Havior, Polyglot (final show), and One King Down

Being a Mainer, I was obviously a big Polyglot fan, and I was pretty stoked to see their last show. Did some moshing, lots of singing along. This new band Havior was pretty cool too. Little did we know that it would morph into American Nightmare in a few years. I don’t even remember One King Down playing.

Coincidentally, my friend from PA would skip his prom the next weekend to go see One King Down too. Not bad.

This is a great all american jersey. Wear with pride.

Sadly, when Rob OKD joined fortydaysrain, I stopped paying attention to fortydaysrain. It wasn’t the same without Brian.
