Cruel Hand Life In Shambles

I remember buying one of these about 4 years ago at a Bane show in NYC at the Gramercy Theater. I believe mine is hunter green. I guess at first I thought it was a Pushead drawing but later I realized it wasn’t. The artwork is done by EveStone. Not sure who that is but I think its pretty cool. jtdxdk28 must have gotten this one later when they were printed on navy. Great shirt and a great band.

I know what you are thinking, “Cruel Hand? C’mon man, haven’t you seen them a million times?” It’s true. I have. But you know what? Every single gig they play is awesome. Every time they hit the stage, kids are having fun. Stage dives are bigger. Drum stick twirls are bigger. Everything is just a little larger. But I’ve never seen them play to non-home town crowd. That’s the test. The test they pass often on their busy touring schedule. It’ll be good to see kids I don’t know going off as hard as Mainers for Cruel Hand. Stoked. I may even snag this tank top from iamlmnop (or maybe I’ll snag that tank up on all in merch, hmmmm). Getting very psyched now for Sound And Fury. See you there?

Morgado posted up Some Dudes Love Purple Part I yesterday. Here I present to you, Part II, courtesy of xbohnx. Lets just say, in a purple war, Judge would always win. In fact, I’m not sure what purple shirt this hood would defeat. Granted, I’m a Set Your Goals fan, but … wow … what the fuck is going on here? Is that an abominable snowman? My mind is blown. I know 30 year old men aren’t their key demographic, but I’m not sure who this shirt appeals to. Also Orrington, Maine is really, really, really far away. UME Orono student??

I spent Thanksgiving in Maine. I didn’t end up getting back until Saturday night. While in Maine, we definitely didn’t go to LL Bean on Black Friday. But if we had, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a shirt that resembled this Title Fight shirt. Whoa, feeling it. I haven’t seen it before so I’ve got to assume njhct picked it up VERY recently. 4 colors. HOT. Whens the new album coming out already? Sheesh, I’m dying here.

Life In Brambles…

Love hardcore? Love hunting? When you’re hunkered down in the brambles and underbrush, are you doing everything you can not to mosh? Is it near impossible for you to not try and front flip out of your hunting blind? Well, Cruel Hand and bgmcgee have the shirt for you!

REAL TREE camo… has anyone ever gone that route for camo merch before? Probably not. I don’t think the buck hunter market has been tapped all that often in the hc scene. Now if only there was a safety vest orange Cruel Hand trucker cap up to post with it… no really, they exist. At least 2 of them ended up in the pile of leftover shoes I had onstage during Have Heart’s final set.

WTF? Cruel Hand Begin Descension Tee

Cruel Hand is awesome but this shirt is VERY weirdo.

Naidoo was wearing this tee at a gig when we spotted the word “descension” on the back. We argued for quite some time on the meaning of the word. Here’s the definition we found.

n. 1. The act of going downward; descent; falling or sinking; declension; degradation.

Of course, we spent the next hour making “going down” jokes at his expense.

Basically this shirt is literally saying, “begin the act of descending.” Couldn’t they have just said “Begin The Descent?” That’s got an ill vibe to it.

How come this seller can’t figure out how to orient their pics? Shit is stupid. I couldn’t find ONE auction with two right side up pics. Most have two upside down pics. That’s just goofy.

Naidoo, if you outbid me on that All Systems Go test press, we’re fighting. Not really, but really.

Hatebreed OG Wind Breaker

Here’s the story of the first time I went to see Hatebreed.

It was a show in Portland Maine at Zootz. I had to borrow my step father’s Ford Explorer to drive into the “big city.” I babied his car. I didn’t want him to have any reason to not let me go back there ever again.

If you ever went to Zootz, you may recall the sketchy parking lot that was next door to Zootz. It was down this alley and was semi-behind Zootz. You had to squeeze down this alley and then squeeze through a narrow metal “bridge” to the lot. I wanted to park OFF the street in order to keep the car “safer.” Of course, I ended up not being able to make that sketchy corner and left a good 3″ long scratch in the side of my step-father’s car. OOOOOFFFFFF

Then in the gig, it was smokey as shit. I had just made the switch from glasses to contacts that day, and the smoke killed me. At one point during Hatebreed, one of my contacts popped out, but somehow, magically, I managed to catch it. No idea how. Magic.

At this gig, especially in Maine, the way to dance was to create a huge circle, where one dude would get in the middle and show off his fancy ninja skills. Lots of kicking, spinning and the like. I recall specifically one dude getting in “the pit” with a broken arm. He was in cast and was literally killing people with it. Punching the crowd. Kicking and spinning. It was wild.

Great show. I was definitely stoked on it.
