Mailbox Report: Variants

Oddly, none of these tshirts came from eBay. In fact, most were purchased directly from the band. BUT most of them were carted all over Asia, Europe and the US. I think that qualifies this for a mailbox report.

Lets start with an item that actually came to my mailbox. I found a seller who had some Follow Through gear (and a sweet Nemesis Records No Gangs tee, one of the last Nemesis Records PSA shirts I need. Sadly, he had already sold it to someone else). I made an offer for a tshirt. He accepted. Paypal money was sent, and he must have shipped it out immediately. When I got the package, I noticed it was heavy. And he spent more on shipping than I had expected. Of course, that’s because he shipped TWO Follow Through tshirts. In this case, the variants are the sizes. Both are XL. BUT one is cut and rolled while the other is tailored. The cut and rolled one is going to be a great beach shirt. Just need to get that white bucket hat. Can’t wait.

Next up is a Bane shirt. You’ll notice a Ferris Bueller’s Day Off quote and imagery. Not too shabby. The Bane logo is definitely a different one. Very 80s retro. But you’ll also notice the variations on color. One has pink and neon, the other has purple and yellow. I like variants.

Next is a JayBil special. Before he finished the redesign for TTD, he whipped up this awesome Globetrottin tshirt for Bane. I’m super psyched on the back pic. I didn’t take a picture of it so you’ll just have to buy one from Bane. You’ll notice 3 variations here. One is a tour shirt from Korea. It’s printed on this tshirt brand called Straight Punk. It’s very, very, very tiny. It features the additional “TOUR” moniker and some very odd blocking around the text. Next up is a mistake print. Somehow this one came on light blue with pink ink. Very odd. And notice the font is different. It’s the usual Bane logo font. Last up is the real deal design. Blue with red ink.

Finally, a shirt I’ve been looking to track down for 3-4 years. Yes, 3-4 years. You’re thinking, “This dude is crazy. It’s just a regular old Bane tee. A dime a dozen.” But not so fast, my friend. Notice the back print. The regular Crowded Rooms tee features a framed photo on the back. This one is SANS photo. I’m 99% certain a friend of Naidoo’s designed this and was definitely surprised to find some shirts had got out without the framed photo. Most were sold in Canada. Which could explain why I had so much trouble tracking this one down.

Oh, and guess what? This will be Bane’s first time EVER playing Sound And Fury Fest. Sadly, Follow Through is not edge … or playing the fest. Continue reading »

Mailbox Report – Catch Up Edition

Lots of catch up to play here, folks. This is a couple of weeks worth of gear at this point. Lets see. Where am I?

I picked up this longsleeve on ebay a few weeks back. I’ve always loved Kill Holiday. Great EP. Great LP too, no doubt.

Also picked up this Project X tee too. The seller didn’t list it as a bootleg so I pulled the trigger in hopes that it’d be legit. Tag looks legit, but the back screen is larger than my miller tagged shirt. 2nd screen maybe? Hmmm.

Grabbed this Bane longsleeve on ebay too. I gave my last one to a kid who got kicked out of a gig. He was penned in with the other under 16 year old kids, and he jumped the fence. He grabbed it by the horns. And then got kicked out. I gave him a tee because he deserved it.

Reign Supreme. Philly’s Finest. Big fan of this crew. And it just so happens, this shirt fits like a glove. Great tshirt. And the ink isn’t bulletproof. Best shirt. You can buy your own on AllInMerch. Do it.

Title Fight. Best shirt ever?! One sided longsleeve shirt. I’m a fan. A big fan. You can also get this one. Go over here. Have at it. Lots of other good merch too.

Free Spirit. Fuck The Moon! You’ll be seeing this shirt again…

So there you go.That’s a couple of weeks worth of pickups. Not too shabby.

Underdog merch and Mailbox Report

The other night I was fortunate enough to catch Underdog in Providence. I don’t know if you have had the pleasure of catching them lately, but man were they tight. Surprised to see Zev on stage with Underdog, but he held it down! Be sure to check them out when they roll into your area.

Anyway, Russ had mentioned through email that he had dug up some old receipts for T-shirts as he was going through his things for the Underdog discography on Bridge 9 records. Of course anything T-shirt related is of interest to me,and you bet I jumped at the chance to add these to the Tee Till Death archives when asked if I wanted them. These 7 slips of paper from 1988/1989 have found a good home in my flyer collection. Just thought you would like to see a few pics. Nothing too earth shattering, but if you haven’t realized I’m a dink yet…you will now! Enjoy!

Russ has 2 rare color ways of the classic Underdog shirt from his own collection on Ebay right now. If you were looking for some cool Underdog shirts, here is your chance. Click the pics to bid!

Mailbox Report – Title Fight

A few weeks back, you may recall me lamenting about how no one snagged me any Title Fight gear. Yeah, I’m whiny like that.

But, with a little hard work, and a lot of networking, I finally found someone who knew someone who knew someone … And I picked up two Title Fight tees. Of course, neither feature fishbones or crotch face print.

Actually, I’m ok with that. In fact, this white shirt is down right dope. The black shirt is cool (very Jinxproof-esque) but the white shirt is over the top chill.

So there you have it folks. With a little hardwork and determination, you too can succeed in finding and buying shirts. Continue reading »

Mailbox Report – Bl’ast! 4 sided wishingwell

I am in need of an original Bl’ast! Wishingwell 4 sided shirt which is UNCUT at the bottom. I have 2 of them, both from dudes who appear on many of the records you own. Both have cut bottoms. Was there a shirt cut and rolling party? Did they dare each other to see how short they could go?

With all that said, I am PROUD to add this item to my collection. It features double logo print on the back and black print on both sleeves. I may attempt to “fix” this one as I did the other one. Other than the bottom, this thing is minty. Would it bother any of you if I wore my Bl’ast! shirt tucked in?

And because you asked for it Town of Hardcore Crew…… here for reference is my other 4 sided previously mentioned in this article. It was a cut shirt, and you can see where I had it “repaired”. Great tuck in shirt. Hey it was cool in the 90′s right? Please note the designs are different. I LOVE wishingwell!

Mailbox Report-Turning Point Hi-Impact shirt

Everyone has a mythical item that they can never locate. Records, shirts, toys, coins, stamps, shoes etc. I also know this because you guys email us looking for stuff.
One of the things that I have been searching for is a Turning Point High-Impact shirt of the first design. I have had many of the second more popular design come and go(in fact I do need a blue, green, red and an all over print one). The early shirt was something that I had only ever seen in cut up, ripped, dirty, stained and smelly variations. Also I had only seen it in ashy gray.

It seems that my top want items usually turn up for me at random times, and often when I am not looking for them. This shirt is RED, which is such an under rated color for hardcore shirts. The condition is perfect with no rips, tears or stains. The size is right and the print is perfectly settled in.

This is an amazing addition to my collection, and if any of you have a gray version, PLEASE get in touch!

Mailbox pickup – Weird Bl’ast! shirt

A few years ago I happened upon this weird Bl’ast! shirt on ebay. It said Bl’ast! on the back with power underneath it. I assumed it was made off the original screens with “the, of and expression” taped off. When I got this shirt in the mail, it had another surprise. It was printed on a Santa Cruz skate shirt.

I am still not certain why/when these shirts were printed, but I can only assume it is related to the Bl’ast! and Santa Cruz poster era.

A few weeks ago, a different variation of this shirt popped up on ebay. Blue shirt with the devil girl as a small pocket print, and the same Bl’ast! “power” logo on the back. This time with the added bonus of a rat. The tag has been cut out, but I am assuming that is was a Santa Cruz shirt as well.

Can anyone shed some light on the rat or the origins of these shirts? Also, can you believe Mr. McKirdy, livewire ceo, will not trade me my shirt back for these 2 gems? Goes to show what kind of Bl’ast! fan he is! ;)

Mailbox Report – Murphy’s Law Tee

I eagerly awaited this auction to finish. Oddly, it had no bids until the last hour. Even odder, I was the only bidder. I won this great Murphy’s Law tshirt for $9.99 (plus $11 shipping).

How did it slip under the radar? Was no one paying attention, or did they all forget to last minute snipe? Maybe no one trusts Thai sellers? Condition is less than mint but it is 100% wearable.

No idea, but I’m stoked.

Edit: I nearly forgot the funniest part of this mailbox report.

I have all my packages sent to my work. It’s easier that way, and then I don’t have to worry about them sitting on my porch, out in the elements. Normally, I get an email from the front desk saying I have a package. Not today. I was sitting in my co-workers office discussing some software when I saw the security lady walking towards my office with a package. This is a rather unusual activity. She handed it to me and told me that the receptionist was worried about the contents “because it is from Thailand.” So the security guard had to open it and inspect it for contraband, I guess. She found none and brought it over to my office. We all laughed because the packaging distinctly says “tshirt.” But that’s ok, better safe than sorry, right?

No one at my work commented on the crucialness that is this Murphy’s Law shirt. Weak.

Mailbox Report #4 – Box Of Goodies

Not everyone can find the gems Casali gets, but I stumbled across a pretty sweet ebay auction one day. I asked the seller if he had a BIN price. He did. We worked out a deal, and he shipped the package straight out to me. It was pretty much a glorious day.

The box.

The contents.

The run down:

Dag Nasty XL tee (circa 96 or 98, hard to read the copyright date)
Samiam Longsleeve XL
Kid Dynamite Philly Punk Rock Longsleeve XL
Bane ee cummings 3 sided Hood (97 era) XL
Bane ee cummings 2 sided Hood (98 era) XL
Burn TV Static Longsleeve XL
Down By Law Longsleeve XL
Bane Tour 98 Tee XL
Mouthpiece Longsleeve XL
Lifetime Tee XL

There was also an Unbroken Life.Love.Regret Longsleeve in that box, but it was already given away. I really wanted the maroon hood. That was my main want. The rest are up for grabs. Minus the Burn tee. That’s reserved for JayBil and the USHCPS.

Mailbox Report #3 B’last! wishingwell black 4 sided shirt

Ok, so this thing is a rag. I am not gonna lie. If you know me, you know I have serious issues and infatuation with all things Wishingwell Records. I find that I can’t help myself when one of these weird shirts pop up.

I am sure you have seen a black Bl’ast! shirt before in pictures, I know I have. I am 99% certain that all the ones I have seen in person were bootlegs. Too crisp and too clean, usually something is off.

When I saw this one for sale, a few things immediately grabbed me. The chest logo is actually 3 hits of color slightly offset to give a weird 3d effect. I am into that. The shirt also looks like it has been to war, IE original.

Sleeves cut, bottom cut, this shirt certainly has issues. I know there are some of you who will disagree, but I like to buy a rarity that I need, even if it is in such rough shape, and add it to my collection until I can find one in a better condition.

If you have an original one of these in better condition, please get in touch. I would love to upgrade…
