Wow. Madball and Blue Grape Merch.

You know I love Madball, but this Blue Grape merch has me perplexed. Granted, we’ve seen this design before. No beef with the design. Big fan of the “Hardcore Lives” anthem. Here’s my beef. And it’s two fold. The Madball logo on the front. Is that some wacky font, or is the placement messing me up? And of course, what the fuck gives with a black tee with white ringers? That’s just mind boggling. Completely perplexing.

Ps Where does janvanderdam get all these gems? Seriously, best merch collection.

What A Malevolent Metal Monday

Last night I went and saw The Cro Mags and Madball in Downtown Miami. It had been a few years since I’d seen the Mags and they always put on a killer show. Leeway cover, two Bad Brains covers, the majority of “Age of Quarrel”…they even did “Crush The Demoniac”. I was stoked. Before Madball, Anger played. They’ve been around for years in one form or another and feature dudes who have been part of the Miami scene since the 80s. You might be asking where I’m going with this…well the singer (ex-drummer) played drums for a number of death metal bands including Solstice (FL), Demolition Hammer and Malevolent Creation. metaljimdclxvi is selling a 1995 European Tour shirt for Malevolent Creation…this was actually the record after he had left the band but his replacement “Crazy” Dave did just fine. Simple, to the point design featuring the artwork from the record on the front and the the tour dates on the back. Size? XL…cmon, you didn’t have to ask.

These Are Not The Tees You’re Looking For…

Way back in the early days of eBay, finding hardcore stuff was actually pretty hard. There were no sites like this to point shit out (or blow up your spot), and more often then not if you searched for something like say… an Outburst 7 inch, you would have to sift through pages of board games. Obviously, things are way easier now, for a variety of reasons, but sometimes when I’m searching for tees to post, I come up with some gems. To paraphrase Star Wars (what up Dave Sausage), “these are not the tees you’re looking for”, and I figured it was past time I shared a few of them…

1. JUDGE

There are a lot of tees that come up when you search for a Judge shirt, but muchclothing4u’s patriotic Butthead tee is the best of the other wise MSPaint looking logo tees that fill up the results field.

2. Madball

Obviously when you search for Madball, you get lots of results for the 80s toyline. Which is awesome, cuz those ruled, and I don’t mind sifting through them. And it was worth it, because today I found this sweatshirt from jbevwillis

3. Underdog

I’m making the arbitrary decision to stop at 3 of these, and for the third and final one I’m giving you the most obvious pain in the ass to search for: the Underdog tee. There are literally pages of Underdog shirts that have nothing to with Ritchie and Russ, and everything to do with that lil ol talking superhero dog. Don’t pretend you’ve never had to scroll through them (yes, you could just include “nyc” or “nyhc” in your search shut up Mister Efficiency). These tees are mass produced as all hell, so there’s never really a lot of variation, but since it’s the holiday season, I’m going with the Christmas themed tee being sold by thecashcow

Ball of confusion

Ya ya ya I know this isn’t a Ball of Destruction shirt that bwal9189 has for sale, but this Look My Way shirt has me all sorts of confused. First I was thrown off because this isn’t the usual LMW shirt, it usually has the MBXHC logo on the front pocket print and the band on the back. That is one of my least favorite Madball shirts, but anyway… I’m so confused why they would even have a size Small shirt in 1998. The seller says it is a misprint and he picked it up from Hoya, but it just seems funky. Maybe this really is some weird misprinted shirt?

Demonstrate Your Wizard

If you’ve been a reader of this site for even a short time you might be familiar with some of the lingo used around these parts. best_times is sellingĀ this teal, thats right, teal MADBALL long sleeve, and itĀ has what we refer to in the industry as “Wizard Sleeves”. As you can see there’s a pocket print here with graffiti lettering, and seemingly good quality ink. This DMS era tour shirt shows us that the band teleported to over 20 dates. My Geography ain’t bad but I challenge the readers to quiz themselves to a 75% or better naming each respective country the band played in here.

Demonstrate Your Style with this piece of Madball gear

A rather fitting name for seller 1970ballofdestruction bringing us this SWEET Madball shirt. Ive actually never seen this shirt before and it honestly looks like something they would sell in Japan or Europe more than the US. Didnt Japan have that DMS clothing line? Jbil im looking in your direction for the answer to that.

Are you ready for Hazen Street?

Now Hazen Street is a band I don’t know a lot about, I do know that you don’t really see a lot of their shirts though. I don’t think they play often, because all of the people in the band are pretty active with other bands. So if you were looking for a shirt of theirs tomcore315 has a shirt for you!

I Told You You Wouldn’t.

Looks like 1970ballofdestruction has had to relist his Madball DMS Gear tee. Guess what I said last time out was literally true. I’d like to say I’m surprised, but really, I’m not. Y’all ain’t got the balls.
