In Like a Lion, Out Like a … Judah?

Well, that’s it for Irene in Massachusetts. She came in like a lion, and is leaving like a lamb. It’s quiet here, power flickered for a bit, but we never fully lost it. We had some incredible gusts, and there are plenty of branches littering my yard. Overall, not too bad here. I hope it all went as smooth or smoother where you are.

In honor of the hurricane’s lion like start, I present this Lion Of Judah demo zip hood. I actually don’t recall these. I’m assuming they were only for sale during the Euro tour towards the beginning of LOJs run.

Grab this one from idrinkmilkeveryday, whom I’ll assume is also the author of the I Drink Milk Fanzine and demo label. I highly suggest you head over there and grab some of that stuff. Lots of great tunes.

Our old buddy itsxdead has up a pair of shirts from the 2009 Lion Of Judah/Give tour. Both of these shirts are good design in my opinion. It’s hard to pull off non standard shirt colors, but these were done expertly. I give the nod to the Lion Of Judah shirt if I had to choose one over the other, although I wouldn’t mind having both in my closet.

A QVCC Gig

In my life, I’ve only ever booked one (solo) show. I booked a few when I was back at WPI, but that was with college money and a few friends. We booked some good ones, no doubt (Bane, Reach The Sky & Buried Alive. Word). But this one gig in 2007, I booked myself. And looking back on it, it was a chill fucking shows.

January 20, 2007 @ The QVCC Worcester Mass: Have Heart (I Rise), Cold World, Lion Of Judah, War Hungry, Step Forward

Come on, now that’s a pretty epic lineup. It was cold as hell that night, which seemed to keep a lot of kids away, but I had a blast. And there were definitely enough people up front during Cold World for Hoodrack to do this ill 5-6 step headwalk. It was monumental. Reminded me of that one headwalk AJ did for Bane at the Space. Good headwalks are hard to come by, really.

Looking back, I’m proud of that gig.
