Lifetime Work Shirt

There was a time in the 90s when bands made work shirts. I never cared for them and I still don’t to this day. deaddrum has a Lifetime work shirt, bought at the their last show in 1997 after “Jersey’s Best Dancers” came out. If this sort of thing is something you’re into, then have at it.

Kid Dynamite Philly Reunion T Shirt 2011

Well this didn’t take long considering the show was just two days ago. The best part is the picture of this shirt was taken on the stage of the First Unitarian Church. You can tell by the rug in the background. I did not attend this so I’m going according to the seller who says that only 48 of these shirts were printed. The shirt features a picture of Sean Agnew who runs R5 Productions in Philly, they are responsible for making all the awesome shows possible. I’m wondering why iwannabeabear didn’t want to enjoy this shirt himself. After all isn’t that why you buy them, to wear and enjoy. But I guess if you can flip it quick why not.

Got a bunch of late night BIN lots for you all from seller endonino24. Every auction has at least one old shirt, and every thing seems priced pretty fair. Those Lifetime shirts seem like a bust to me personally, but I’m sure someone will be into ‘em. Enjoy, I’m going to sleep.

WTF? Not In This Lifetime!

I like Lifetime. Always have, always will. I can support their first album AND their last album. All the albums in between too. But over the years, the shirts have gone on a downward spiral (and that doesn’t mean they’ve been pumping out sweet NIN rip off tees either).

First up is this reunion tee from 2005, straight from a Philly dude, too, philly256969. I honestly can’t recall the 2005 reunion gig. I do recall a 2006 gig in Cambridge. I thought about going but then decided I wasn’t into seeing a reunion gig. I ended up rolling to the show regardless because my older brother had a ticket. I sat outside the gig and waited for the sweaty masses to roll out. After seeing everyone ring their shirts out, I think I won.

And this must be MUCH more recent. Actually, I’m hoping it isn’t even related to lifetime, the band. Maybe it’s just a catchy phrase on a tee. Because WHOOOFFFF, terrible.

What Kind Of Work Does Lifetime Do?

Earlier today I decided it was time to upgrade my tires on the bike. I had been having issues with the back tire. Two flats in 10 miles. Not cool. It is a tax holiday in Mass so it made sense to hit up my local bike store (lbs) for some new tires and a tube. Should have grabbed two tubes, another backup, just in case. They only had a few tires to chose from, and I ended up with some Michelin Pro3s in the red color. They weren’t inexpensive, but they felt nice on my first test ride. Looking forward to seeing how they work out.

I know what you are thinking, “What the fuck is Brian talking about? None of this has to do with cool hardcore merch …” Yeah, you’d think that, but here’s the connection. Besides the super friendly guy who LOVED talking bikes (especially the khs flite 100 they had in stock. Not sure how many people in my town plan on riding a fixed gear bike, but hey, you never know …), there was a kid mechanic there. He was wearing an excellent black Cradle Of Filth embroidered work shirt. If I hadn’t been looking closely, I would have probably just assumed it was a regular old work shirt. But no, it was not. It was Cradle Of Filth. Amazing. Of course, the nice old man had some early 60s acoustic jams on the radio. Not very metal like.

So that brings us all the way to this Lifetime work shirt from chris31954. The mid 90s had LOTS of love for work shirts. You don’t really see them out there too much anymore. This one has the great Lifetime logo and appears to be in excellent condition. I’m going to suggest you pick it up stat.

old Lifetime shirt

Seller states this is one of the first Lifetime designs. Has the 7″ cover on the back. Not my favorite era Lifetime but I do celebrate their entire catalogue. I actually got turned onto Lifetme but one Mr. Jesse Standhard(sorry to ruin your street cred). He lent me the “jerseys best dancers” record around its release time.
Fun Fact – I got yelled at/lectured at for stagediving during Lifetime at the Tune Inn in CT by some angry fans. I thought I was at punk/hardcore show?!? Sorry for enjoying myself and the band. I did not stop my activty during the show after said lecture.

“dont want to get hit / dont stand up in front / cry when you do / youre nothing but a ….”
