One King Down Bloodlust Revenge

Jaybil is always talking about shirts he would see at least once a show in CT.

This is the Worcester version.

You couldn’t walk three feet in the Espresso Bar without hitting one of these tees. It probably helps that Rob would later go on to sing for the Worcester band fortydaysrain. Worcester seemed to have a lot of love for OKD. Who knows why.

Gotta love the giant EVR backprint. I feel like you don’t see enough of that anymore. Bring back giant Rev stars too.

One King Down Basketball Jersey

Here’s my One King Down story.

My girlfriend in high school had a very strict father. She was a junior, I was a senior. When prom came around, he refused to let her go with an older guy. No big deal to me because One King Down was playing at Zootz that night.

Yeap. I skipped prom to go see One King Down. It was actually a dope ass show.

May 10th 1997 @Zootz Portland Maine: Havior, Polyglot (final show), and One King Down

Being a Mainer, I was obviously a big Polyglot fan, and I was pretty stoked to see their last show. Did some moshing, lots of singing along. This new band Havior was pretty cool too. Little did we know that it would morph into American Nightmare in a few years. I don’t even remember One King Down playing.

Coincidentally, my friend from PA would skip his prom the next weekend to go see One King Down too. Not bad.

This is a great all american jersey. Wear with pride.

Sadly, when Rob OKD joined fortydaysrain, I stopped paying attention to fortydaysrain. It wasn’t the same without Brian.

Cannae – Zip Sweatshirt

My friend Mikey Incite used to drum for Cannae.

Before that he drummed for fortydaysrain and before that Incite (obviously).

I can’t think of many fortydaysrain fans. The only dude that REALLY comes to my is JD from Shipwreck. That dude LOVES fortydaysrain (and pretty much everything mid 90s New England core). Quality dude. JD and Mikey, that is.

One time we were at Steve Incite’s house (he played guitar in Incite, fortydaysrain AND Cannae, wild right?) swimming. His parents had this chill little house in the burbs with a great pool. We were swimming and diving. AJ was jumping off the roof of the shed into the pool, just enjoying himself. No parents were home so we figured, lets do this right. As AJ climbed up onto the shed, the dad walked into the backyard. But AJ was partially hidden by shadow so he just laid down flat on the roof of the shed. The dad chatted for a moment, finally spotted AJ, and then FLIPPED HIS SHIT. He furiously told us to leave, and we did.

Great night for a swim though.

I never saw Cannae really. They weren’t my cup of tea, but I’ll still mosh to that fortydaysrain demo. Great couple of tracks.
