WOW… seller xmaulx brings us some of the coolest auctions that I’ve seen so far this year. I am still a huge fan of D.M. and I’ll be envious of whoever decides to grab these original prints that were drawn by Linas Garsys. Both drawings were used on shirt’s as I believe the auctions state. As well, if I’m not mistaken I have them at home. No doubt these would look great framed. I hope my Valentine is watching these auctions. BE MINE.

I only saw Desperate Measures once and I believe it was at Magic Fest in West Palm Beach. Kids were really into them and were going absolutely bonkers when they played. adamrifkin has a design from their 7 inch on Youngblood Records. I love this colorway…I wanna say it reminds of Brotherhood for some reason. Anyway, not too crazy of a Buy It Now…definitely could be worth picking up. 4 sided print and a live photo on the back? I’m sold.

I’m going to keep focusing on itsxdead‘s auctions today. He is helping me out with multiple shirts from the same band. God bless him. Desperate Measures had the Loc on the shirt game in the early 2000′s, and this is just a small sample of their output.

Ok, I’m not really going to Disney World. I haven’t been there since 1985. But you know who is? chupaskabro. That’s right. He’s bringing his family and needs to put some scratch together. Morgado can call out Casali all he wants, but not mentioning the seller is unloading stuff in order to take his FAMILY to Disney World is … that’s just poor form on his part. Shame on you Morgado. Give the man his due!

Vintage Desperate Measures Tshirt

Here’s a cool Desperate Measures shirt from our friend Jim C. I actually traded this one to either Jim or Seth (not sure now). I didn’t want to trade it, but it’s just so fucking tiny, it was unwearable by a 6′, 175 lb male. I couldn’t do it. But it’s rad. You’ll notice it features a screen stars tag. That’s right. Those junkers in DM scoured thrift shops for plain tees and screened up their design on it. And this one is a gem. It’s a teal Screen Stars tee with white, yellow and red ink. It is awesome looking. If you are a smaller person, you need to get this one. It’s stellar.

Desperate Measures shirt

It seems like Desperate Measures gear is on the outs as far as collecting goes. There one time kings of merch have been relegated to $5 shirts with no bids. Kinda sad really, as they were a good band that I really enjoyed. Hopefully we can at least get this one sold for $5.

Moving On!

I’ve always loved the Desperate Measures Moving On design. No doubt. I have a few short sleeves, a longsleeve and maybe a crewneck somewhere. If this crewneck wasn’t navy blue, you know I’d add it to my collection. I hate Navy Blue! Like I said, big fan of the design — just a navy blue hater. If you are a navy blue lover (gag), head on over to bwer2809′s auction and grab yourself an excellent design.

One nitpick here. The seller states, “Never thought i’d get to see them, but they jumped on during This is Hardcore 2009. Awesome set, awesome band, awesome sweatshirt.” You know where this nitpick is going. That wasn’t Desperate Measures. Just like Sweet Pete singing at Edge Day 2009 was NOT In My Eyes. It was the singer of a band singing songs that were written by his old band with a bunch of great dudes. Same in that case as it is in this case. Both times were an enjoyable experience, but I wouldn’t consider it the actual band, you know? In My Eyes isn’t In My Eyes without AP or Luke … Just kidding, love you Neumann. Same goes with DM. You can’t have DM without Gene or Duff or Minny Stigma … (well, sort of) … You know? It shouldn’t tarnish that kids experience, but I’m just saying, it’s not really the same. Ryan DM backed by Dave Sausage and Drew & Kyle Of MOM is chill, but it’s not the same. Cool, but not the same.

I’m guessing rickorwithoutyou has been hitting the sauce. Seriously, how else would anyone in their right mind come to the decision to sell these gems? Just kidding, rickorwithoutyou, I’m sure you have great reasons for selling. I’m not sure I could do it. Check that longsleeve. So fucking ill. But then again, that’s how Desperate Measures merch went. Not a lot of filler in their shirtography. I’m sure I could find someone who disagrees, but I celebrate their whole shirt catalog. I bet I could get Morgado to agree with me on this one. Not bad for shirts that are 7-8 years old either.
