Up Front Reunion Tee

Our buddy Jay made this shirt for the Up Front reunion. He was channeling the Spirit cover for this one. You can actually read all about what the design on his blog. It’s a good read. Sadly, this shirt looks … not good. I can’t tell if it’s the pictures or the red shirt, black ink combo. Everything looks super washed out. Anyone have a white one? I bet it works better on white. The front is basically indecipherable. Weird.

TMNT – CTHC

Signs Of Hope is Connecticut Hardcore, and my one question is, which one is the party dude? Who knew the sewers of CT were swarming with mutant turtles. It happens I guess .. Make sure to check out ostercoaster’s other auction for more Signs Of Hope tees. Not sure how a dude in Idaho got so many, but he’s got a few. Better yet, hit up their estore and grab some merch. That “Fuck Work” is … not a very reasonable Run DMC rip off …

Doomed To Repeat

Fired Up never got their due. This is true. Somehow, in the recent annals of Hardcore History, they have been grossly overlooked. Not sure how. I always enjoyed their gigs and the signing to Youngblood Records seemed promising. And the addition of Steb was huge. But things petered out. Dudes moved away, got into other bands. It just stopped happening. Which is unfortunate but perhaps timely. Like Picasso, they can now be more fully appreciated .. Or something like that. Regardless, this longsleeve from xstefahnx is great. Bonus points for the yellow and royal (not navy, eff navy) combo. Trivia: Who did the logo? I’ve always dug their logo.

Wide Awake

OK CT heads, I need your help on this one. I’m 90% certain this is a Lost And Found hood, but someone clue me in. Adam Tanner, I’m looking at you … I’ve seen this one before. I know it’s not super old. As I recall, Owen Rogers used to wear this one all the time. Or am I confusing it? Either way, it’s a little much for me. Much like those recent B9 Project X hoods, this has just a few too many sides, colors and fonts. Sorry madballmarshall but you aren’t getting my money. Of course, I’m sure he’ll get plenty for it … Just not from me.

Torn Apart

As Cushman and I were driving back from the Trapped Under Ice and Bane gig in CT, we were discussing old shirts and demos. I mentioned how I missed my ridiculous Turmoil soccer jersey, and he mentioned something about a Braid tshirt, or was it Indian Summer? It was none of the above obviously, but he did mention that he had a box of demos. Now you are curious, “Brian, what was the first demo you asked him if he had?” The first one I asked about — Torn Apart. No shit. Torn Apart.

doooooobin has the tee. But who has the demo? I’ll take some MP3s people. Hook me up!

Lost Concepts Of Reality

I caught Trapped Under Ice last night in Connecticut. The show was held at the Webster Theater, the smaller bar portion. Merch was as you walked in, bands two rooms over. It was a good mix for talking and moshing. When TUI came on, the talking stopped and the pitting started. Fuck. These dudes brought the house down. There must have been lots of TUI fans in the house because there was plenty of mosh. Hard mosh. CT style. Lots of infectious mosh. Soooo good.

Now skyline_99 has this basketball jersey up. You can grab this color OR you can wait for the band to swing by your town. They have royal blue ones with them. I suggest buying one from the band. Maybe snag that Thrasher rip shirt too! I know Cushman did.

Cornerstone

When I think of Cornerstone, I think of Fastbreaks older brother. But that’s my generation. Older heads probably think about a youth crew band that kept the spirit alive in Connecticut post Wide Awake / Up Front. Younger kids … well, younger kids are probably just scratching their heads. They’ve probably never even heard Beating The Masses. Which is unfortunate. I’d wager most would recognize the cover art. Sadly, I feel like I see this gatefold lp in most record bins I dig through.

As for the hood, I’d also guess this one has Lost & Found written all over it. I know, no wizard sleeves, but the color and font bear a striking resemblance to that split EP with Unit Pride.

Or is that just me? Any Lost & Found “fans” want to clue me on this one? Or Toby, if you are out there, fill us in.

Shall Be Judged

Love this shirt.

Love it.

I actually have a great version of this one. Purple tee with light blue ink. Very ill.

Now this one is well loved. The seller claims the color is green. It’s got to be the most faded out blue ever.

One other interesting note, the seller is claiming it’s “one of a kind.” And that he’s “never seen one of these shirts on ebay since” he bought his.

I can’t be 100% positive, but I’m 99% positive that this shirt is NOT one of a kind. Sure, Fat City in CT printed up all sorts of one off colors, and weirdo color schemes. Dennis from Fat City told me this was the case a few years ago when I was researching something else … He even told me a story about how they did up some pink inked Burn tees that NO ONE bought. Or some Burn tees with multiple front logos. So the only claim at being “one of a kind” this shirt could possibly have is if it was one of those weirdo one off prints.

BUT

There is no way to verify that.

Regardless, this is a well loved and well worn shirt. It should be a staple in every core kids closet.

Into Another old shirt

As a Connecticut native it should be in my blood to love Into Another. We are pretty much the post-HC capital of the world. It seems like every CT dude I know from the generation of HC before mine is fanatical about post-HC. You could not go to a show in CT in the 90s without seeing multiple people in into another, quicksand, supertouch,(other “grooving” type bands) gear. If you were at the Burn reunion(recording) show in CT in the late 90s youd understand. People crawled out of the wood work for that one and lost their minds. I know at least one dude off the top of my head that has the Into Another logo tattooed on him since the mid/early 90s. I fucks with a lot of the post core bands mentions but I must admit I am still trying to figure out IA. Im listening to them as I type this. In fact its gonna be my new years resolution – Get into Into Another. Wish me luck
