How would you take your Chain Of Strengths?

There are a few ways to get your Chain Of Strength fix today. First up, seller xuttermoshx has a trifecta of Chain shirts for your perusal. First up we have an original WHUA shirt. We can file this one under the well loved/needs an oxyclean bath category.

I have heard many things about these blue printed Chain shirts sans “X”. Made after they broke up/made by people not in the band, I usually classify this one as a kinda bootleg/kinda real shirt. Someone clue me in with specifics please. I’ll be here all day.

The last item from xuttermoshx is a bootleg of one of my favorite shirts. There is not much better that a navy Chain shirt, and here is your chance to grab a bootleg on the cheap.

Statue Longsleeve

crushedonyou has continually pulled some amazing tees out of the closet, be it late 80s hardcore or 90s. This time he’s pulled out a Statue longsleeve that looks to be in great shape. Some minimal cracking on the back but overall it looks great…plus you can’t beat that Rev sleeveprint. I didn’t get into Statue until I was older because their record came out during that period where Rev was shying away from their earlier sound and I wanted nothing to do with it if it didn’t sound like Judge or GB. My loss at the time…better late than never. Did Rev ever make any other Statue designs besides this one?

Couple of days left on this Over My Dead Body “True Til Death” rip. This is a design that so many bands have ripped off but it really never feels dated. I guess that’s the sign of a classic design. mattxenemy has some great European hardcore band merch for sale so check those out as well.

Has the edge gone dull?

Not as cool as a TTD Chain of strength shirt. I dont know this one just looks lazy to me. Like they didnt want to pay to have another color for this shirt. This shirt would have been so great if they just made it two color with black like the other shirt. I never really wanted to cop this one but I would take one for free;)

True Till Death

I used to have an urge to get a COS shirt. I always wanted one. One time in the late 90s I saw an older dude at a Hatebreed show at Tuxedo Junction in Danbury,CT wearing the navy shirt. This was all pre Ebay so seeing one in the wild was pretty rare. He was in the back by the bar with his friend drinking beer. Being the shameless edgeman I am I asked him if hed be willing to sell the shirt. He kinda hemmed and hawed over. His friend told hime to just sell it to me as he didnt care about the shirt at all. The dude was still on the fence. Finally he said hed sell it to me if I went to see his bands show the next month as they were having a reunion gig. The band was Payback and if youve ever heard that 7″ you can guess that I did not make the hour drive back down to see them play. That shirt was cool and all but he was so on the fence about it and I didnt expect him to actually remember bringing the shirt so I said fuck it. I had already been duped once by Payback into buying the 7″ cause the cover looked kinda cool. I never ended up getting a COS shirt to this day. Maybe ill bid on this one from grooveghoul? But I doubt it.

animal-chin brings us a good one. Next to the “What Holds Us Apart” design, this is my favorite Chain shirt, regardless of it being a bootleg. The navy shirt with the grey and white ink is just killer. Such a good look. I’m even alright that this doesn’t have the Rev star on it…alright, I’m not entirely alright with it but the colors make up for it. Even for a bootleg, these tend to get snatched up quickly so don’t sleep on this one.

It Comes Down To A Simple Choice Really.

I don’t think things are going to end well for chow1732 and his Chain of Strength shirt. Not only is it a boot of the infamous tie dyed COS tee, but it’s a boot that was pretty clearly made in art class with stencils, and possibly acrylic paint. Yikes.

Speaking of tie dye, and this is totally unrelated to Chain, my girl Marina did this TUI shirt, and I happened to spot a tie dyed version on someone’s Tumblr (or maybe it was Instagram. Same difference, really.). It actually looked really, REALLY ill. All lite blues and whites. Very icy, and very cool. So if you absolutely have to copy a tie dyed tee, I recommend you scoop the plain white version from xruinerx2541, get busy dyin’, then get busy livin’.

COS foundation shirt

Its official Chain of Strength shirts are no longer rare. Stop paying lots of money for them. If you visit this site regularly you will notice that COS shirts popup pretty much every week. This one is pretty rough though. Maybe itll hit 300 like that other terrible conidtion COS shirt. igren gives a pretty graphic description of what youre getting into with this one. “This thing looks like it got ran over by a lawn mower. It has many holes and its got some stains”. If this gets more than 2 or 3 bids I will be shocked. This shirt is on some Edward Scissorhands shit
