Can we have a probationary period where bands are not allowed to rip off the Black Flag bars? Maybe a few years? It’s been beaten to death…that said, I don’t hate this Hatebreed rip from dforrest51. Bands I understand that kids dig it but let’s just give it a rest for a little bit.

pitofequality has Rotting Out’s take on the classic Black Flag “Police Story” artwork up for sale. They “PCed” it for today’s audience seeing as how Black Flag could get away with what they did in the early 80s…today, it wouldn’t fly so much. Sure the original Flag design is still available through SST but it’s definitely a headache I’d prefer avoiding. I’m going to go out on a limb and say this was probably a limited design. Good look.

Man oh man do I love this thing. Schleifendiuretikum says its from the late 80s but with that tag I would be willing to wager its from the early to mid 90s. Not that it should matter the thing is incredible. Some people throw that word around but this hood really is incredible. If I had more paypal funds(more that zero) I would be bidding a stupid amount of money on it but that is because I have no self control.

Since Halloween is coming, I think it’s only appropriate to post up some great rip off tees. Halloween seems the perfect time for such things. Halloween gigs are always full of wacky covers, wacky tees and wacky costumes. Anyone remember Tre’s handlebar moustache from that Fastbreak, Jejune, Piebald gig? Stellar.

Lets kick it off with this great piece of Rotting Out merch. Obvious Black Flag rip. They were sold at Sound And Fury 2011. I may just snag this one from xxxhomiefofoxxx. Can’t recall why I didn’t pick one up at the time. You know I love white tshirts and Rotting Out, who are apparently killing it on their current tour with Bane & Dead End Path tour. I can’t find any recent videos, but you’ll enjoy this one from over the summer.

Somewhere along the way, the art of button making has started to die off. Sure there is that one punk guy in your scene who will make you 100 buttons for $20, but no one ever takes him up on that. Seller kimmyanne81 has a nice selection of some old buttons that you may find interesting. Most of the time old buttons look pretty ghetto, but that’s their charm. Really nice pieces to add to your collection on the cheap.

This is one of my favorite shirts of all time. I love posting this shirt mostly because I already have one and dont have to worry about finding one. As a bonus my shirt fits perfect on me as well. Something about this shirt is just so perfect to me. I dont know if its the fact that its printed in the same color scheme to match the record. Maybe its just the simplicty of the tour print on the back. All I know is when you see this shirt you notice. Its hard not to notice such perfection. This shirt even gets a pass on having the bottom cut If you dont have one yet maybe you can try scooping this one up from moloko-plus

Sneaky Black Flag bootleg

Mr.nuwar-berahim almost fooled me. When I first saw this auction I was like “oh shit I guess this shirt was acutally made by SST at one point and not just a shitty bootleg.” I was a little stoked on it. I thought that I might want it. Then I saw the tag and realized its the worst kind of boot of all. The kind that tries to pass itself off as a legit old shirt. Once you take a peep at that tag you can see that its an old SST tag taken from another shirt and sewn,poorly I might add, to a bootleg tee in hopes of passing it off as legit. For shame. Do not bid on this. Do not buy things from this seller as it only encourages this sort of thing.

So, I’m taking Metal Monday off for the holiday, which means this strange mash up tee from seller sbivens59 is about as close as I’m gonna get today…

The theme is obvious, and actually Black Flag and Black Sabbath go together well. But the Black Panthers? Interesting choice.
