Rushmore or Family Guy?

While I am a fan of the majority of Wes Anderson’s films, Rushmore is not really at the top of the list. I know many people swear by it but I’ve always been more a fan of the Royal Tenenbaums. Bane used the artwork from the Criterion release of the film (big ups) for this West Coast tour tee. Not a bad look but I prefer the second tee.

There was a time a few years back where everyone didn’t act like they never liked Family Guy. I own this same tee and it gets worn pretty regularly. xx43xx has more Bane items up for sale so check it out.

The Best Description For a Bane Longsleeve. Ever.

Holy shit. daysarelikeknives has the BEST description ever. It basically says nothing about the longsleeve, and I approve of that. I should get this guy to write reviews for Hows Your Edge?

Got this shirt at a show at the trance buddha in shrewsbury, ma in ’01 or ’02. What feeds the fire played and maybe dragnet, I don’t remember who else.

This club was tiny as fuck and it was nuts that Bane was playing.

After their first song they had to have the club turn off the neon green strobe light because it was going to give the drummer a seizure.

I wore this shirt on a cruise when I was 16 and I was pouty the whole time because I missed a girl and I had to be on a cruise in the Bahamas away from her. What an idiot.

Seriously. Perfect. FYI: The A-Team and My Revenge also played this gig. Also, a band called The Fright, who I’m completely spacing on. Plus, the club, I’m pretty sure, was a restaurant with a lounge-like stage. It was SUPER tiny, super hot and not far from the Candy Mansion. And this was despite being on December 30, 2001 when it should have been super cold (he was close on the date, eh?).

Every time I see this Bane tshirt, I’m reminded of this scene.

As for the tshirt, it’s in amazing condition. steventv66 doesn’t appear to be pulling anyone’s leg here. This thing is minty. Not bad for a shirt that’s almost 9 years old, right? I’ve seen plenty of these with cracked and peeling letters, but this looks great. If you are in the market for one of these, this is the shirt I’d suggest.

Mental Crew Longsleeve BIN

This was one of those shirts that everyone wanted in the early to mid 2000s. Its been printed in a few different colorways, this being my favorite. Bane was here last week and Aaron was wearing this in yellow. Baby blue is much more my color. gregbst also set a relatively reasonable BIN so I don’t see this one staying up for very long.

Bane Windbreaker Ending Very Soon

I’m not trying to step on Murphy’s territory but jmoro1183 has this Bane windbreaker that’s ending in a few hours. Not sure of the age…I’m guessing older based on the back image being one of the bands first designs. Looks to be in great shape. Bane was here last week and they still put on a great show…good mix of old and new.

How long did it take for you to recognize that all the songs on the newer Bane EPs were names of soap operas? It honestly took me a month or two. I was either dense or just not paying attention. One thing I did notice was how fucking dope this longsleeve is. 3 sided. NO back print. I fully support that. Great colors, good look. They might have a few of these on tour with them now so have a look when you see them.

Bane Lot: 2003-2005

chevy_independent has a nice little snapshot of the mid 2Ks. During this time period, Bane was a touring machine. They were everywhere. Full US tours, Europe, Japan, … all over the place. Then they hit the studio to record The Note. Busy times, for sure. 6 tshirts and 2 hoods. Not bad. Someone popped the opening bid of $50, but that F*CK YEAH hood usually sells for quite a bit on its own. I’m real curious to see where this one ends. I won’t fight you for this one – I already own one of each of those ;)
