You Weren’t Around.

Don’t wanna pay isacto’s lame brain BIN for the Descendents shirt below? Neither do I (and to be fair, he doesn’t want you to either: he’s looking for a trade). Which is why I have a way better idea. Go to the Descendents merch store and buy the “I Wasn’t Around” shirt bundle, and for only 2x the money you can get 12x the shirts, plus a mystery tee! As the title implies, it’s every tee from every one of their recent shows, all of which had their own one off designs. This would make a great Christmas present if you have someone you want to give good good things to. Is it prejudiced to say the NYC one is the best one of these? I may be from Boston, but I do live here after all, and that was an AWESOME show…

Also included in the bundle is the tee from the Punk Rock Bowling show in Las Vegas (obviously- I did say it was all the recent tees, duh). Seller cardking16 has it up, and if you want to buy just one tee it’s a normal, rational auction… but it’s a mock bowling shirt, and even with the Milo and co shaped bowling pins on the back (which if you go for that bundle, are on their own tee, where they look way cooler), the front is some “80s movie nerd goes to prom in a cartoon tuxedo shirt” style. Which now that I think about it, is enough to make this work for me even if I’d never wear it…

Screaming Finally Gets You Something.

Hopefully I didn’t step on our own xchipxsem’s toes here by being the one who posts up his 2001 Summer Tour AN tee and mentions this, but it sure seems to me like we’re way behind on the big news of the week: American Nightmare is playing 2 reunion shows at the end of December! Tickets go on sale tomorrow at noon, you absolutely are gonna want to be on top of that… the main question on my mind? Will they buy the intro back from AJ (well, technically Sami Reiss of Trumbull Escapades, since AJ in turn sold it to him) and play it?

Wee sized Nightmare

If this shirt wants so tiny I think it could command a pretty good price. This is one of those instances where people should have thought of the future. Either the dude doesnt fit in the shirt anymore(ie got fat), doesnt want to look like the cast of the Jersey shore with a muscle tee, hit a growth spurt and sized up, or doesnt like AN anymore. In any case off loading such a small size is a bumout cause the market for baby tees is not that big. The lesson today is you WILL get fat. You cant avoid it!
I hope you can get a good price deadlyrock because that is a dope shirt!

Ending Soon: American Nightmare Euro Tour 2001

Weird. I’ve never seen this American Nightmare shirt before. It’s from the 2001 Euro tour. I’ve seen the drummer graphic on the summer tour tee, but never with the red ink on the front. And I’ve definitely never seen the backprint. But that’s not the most confusing part. The most confusing part is that this auction has less than 2 hours to go and has ZERO bids. I don’t get it. It’s size small. Isn’t that the GUTG bread and butter? Either way, you should snag this one from tmm3188. Great tee.

One King Down Glut

Someone (aka heroes-and-conspiracies) has obviously been keeping tabs on the state of One King Down merch on ebay. Or maybe, he’s just a fan of us keeping tabs of OKD merch on ebay. Either way, he’s out for blood with FOUR items. 3 tshirts and 1 windbreaker. Most have BINs, some seem steep. I don’t recall seeing either of the tour shirts, but the windbreaker was a staple at every E-bar show. Get into it.

Stay What You Are

It’s pretty safe to say that Stay What You Are was a GIANT departure from the Saves The Day that we all knew and loved. Honestly, Through Being Cool was a clear indication that the ship was turning. It just wasn’t clear at the time how far that turn was going to be. Stay What You Are made it abundantly clear. Mind you, I enjoy this album. But much like the Fastbreak Whenever You’re Ready album, I have to convince myself it’s actually a whole different band. In Saves The Day case, this was close to true. Sean (RIP) was fighting cancer, Bryan was on his way out. It was starting to look like a band I didn’t recognize. No worries, the music was still enjoyable, even if it did take me 10 years to get into Through Being Cool.

If you are down with 2001 era Saves The Day, consider picking up these shirts from crushedonyou and girlsoccerrocker. Lots of grey … That first one is awesome. Just plain and simple. Into it. Grab any new merch at savestheday.com.

Ensign Bl’asts Through Europe 2001

Let this be the spark! That’s right. Ensign hit Europe fast and hard back in 2001. I think this was in support of their Nitro record The Price of Progression. I of course, wasn’t there to see it. I’m guessing discopaul wasn’t there either. But I can understand why he’d want to snap up this Bl’ast rip off design. Smart look. Interestingly enough some of my favorite shows featured Ensign, but oddly, I can’t recall ever really seeing Ensign play. Granted, I have shit memory but with these shows, you’d think I’d remember SOMETHING.

December 15th 1997 @The 180 Club Hagerstown MD: Yuletide Hardcore Fest: Rancor, Fastbreak, Floorpunch, Rain On The Parade, Ensign, Ten Yard Fight, and Bane
November 28 1998 @The Gym Clinton Mass: Ten Yard Fight, Shutdown, Ensign and Sick Of It All
March 5, 2000 @Manville Elks Lodge Manville NJ: Matt Fest Day 2: AF, Hatebreed, Bane, Vision, Ensign, …

The one Ensign gig I can recall was one of the first shows I saw after leaving Maine for Worcester. IT was at the Bristol Bike Exchange in Connecticut. Super cold, super late. This was back in the day when every Connecticut show started at least 3 hours later than expected. It wasn’t a rare occurrence for headlining bands to begin setting up at 1am. Sigh. I remember more about the event leading up to the bands than the actual bands. My memory sucks. Very uncool.

Bane West Coast 2001

Bane. The West Coast tour. 2001. Where were you? I was on the east coast chilling, that’s for sure. This tour supported Give Blood. Fun fact. Back when The Note came out, HYE did a auction to support The Team Neale Foundation. The auction included each of the colors of the LP and a stack of goodies. One of the goodies included the original picture of this shirt. Good look!

PS. great seller name: garthxalgar. Party on, Wayne!

Bane Skull Logo

Back in 2001, Bane put together a tshirt for their Devil’s Night record release gig. They made a black tshirt with orange and white ink. The front appeared to be a normal logo tee, but they flipped it up a bit for that Devil’s Night theme. They replaced the normal hole in the “A” with a skull. It was a subtle switch which really worked for them. Shirts flew off the table, and mosh occurred. For the next few months and tours, they then dropped some one sided skull “A” logo tees. It only lasted a few months so not too many are floating around out there. This is one of them. You could probably scoop it for cheap since the sellerdoesn’t really point out this difference. Do it.

Hopefully Bane will have similarly awesome tees at this years Sound And Fury Fest. They aren’t really a band to do special fest tees, but for Sound And Fury, who knows?
